Don't let the title "Gospel Hill" fool you, as it really is not a Christian film. It contains profanity and other ungodly themes. The movie is about a developer, lying to the African-American people of a small South Carolina town, promising neighborhood redevelopment, but attempting to demolish the historic area, suffering from urban decay, to make way for commercial real estate.

There are themes of racial conflict present in this movie as well. This film could have been done better. The acting was fine, but the script failed it. The Celluloid Film Review did not get very much from this movie.

"Fireproof" Movie Review

"Fireproof" is a film starring former "Growing Pains" actor, turned evangelist, Kirk Cameron. His acting abilities are on full display in this movie, where he plays an over-worked fireman, struggling with a marriage that is in turmoil.

He and his wife argue constantly and are brought to the brink of divorce. His dad steps in with a 40 day program, in the hope of it turning their marriage around.

This was an entertaining film. Sadly, it bore distinct touches of Tyler Perry's preexisting hit sitcom "House Of Payne" which is also about a Christian firefighter, struggling with an estranged wife. The Celluloid Film Review is wondering if distributor, Sony Pictures, is to blame for the similarities, as it is their way.

"Surrogates" Film Review

"Surrogates" starring Bruce Willis, is about a world, where robot clones are built for people to live vicariously through them, whilst engaging in risky and dangerous behavior, they normally would not participate in. This film is a rip-off of Arnold Schwarzenegger's "The Sixth Day."

The plot of "Surrogates" lingers over a group of people, appalled at the idea of robot clones, labeling it unnatural. They take action to put an end to the program - literally - via infecting the mainframe with viruses and spyware.

Spoiler Alert: Willis' character is actually a prettied up, youthful FBI agent, robot surrogate, being controlled by the older, human version of himself. At least if need be, the robot could have gotten a computer system together, unlike the real FBI.

This film wasn't anything special, just your run of the mill rip-off of a project that was already done. The acting was average and the special fx mundane.

"Terminator Salvation" Movie Review

The film "Terminator Salvation" was a disappointment and did not live up to the hype that accompanied its marketing push. The Celluloid Film Review suspects, this is why domestic and international ticket sales, were relatively low for the fourth installment of the franchise. The problem was the script. It was bad and dark.

"Terminator Salvation" is about a man fighting off robots that have taken over the planet, after a war destroys modern civilization. The previous "Terminator" films weren't as severe in content or tone. So much of "Terminator Salvation" is muddled, making it one big mess that is sometimes tedious to follow.

Note: the Terminator films were born out of copyright infringement, as James Cameron stole the original script, from a New York paralegal named, Sophia Stewart, after it was passed to him, as revealed by an FBI investigation into the case. Cameron was later accused of stealing the show "Dark Angel" from another writer's copyrighted story, which was available on the internet, years before his program aired. The same story has repeated itself once again, as Cameron stole his latest film "Avatar."

"Love Happens" is a sad, but interesting film. It stars actress, Jennifer Aniston, as a florist, who falls in love with a self-help author and motivational speaker, named "Burke Ryan" played by actor, Aaron Eckhart. Ryan is a widower, facing terrible pain, regarding his wife's untimely death in a car accident. He blames himself for his wife's death, but the reasons are not revealed until later in the film.

In life, the self-help theme is a faulty one. True help and emotional healing comes from God through prayer. This movie contains profanity and other speech that is not suitable for family audiences. It's a shame, as it had a few decent messages on the grieving process and learning to let go of guilt.

"Unthinkable" Movie Review

Unthinkable is one of the sickest, most mentally disturbing films in existence. Its deceptive marketing leads one to believe, it is a film about law enforcement honorably prevailing over terrorists. However, it is anything but that.

It stars Samuel L. Jackson, as a CIA operative named "H" who is used to interrogate terrorist suspects. However, the film quickly takes a nasty detour into torture. Very grotesque torture, might I add, which does not reflect well on the government or Hollywood for filming this nastiness, as it shall only incite terrorism, not discourage it.

Spoiler Alert: There are a group of scenes in which, an American born Muslim convert, named Yusuf, has turned to terrorism and is tortured by the U.S. government in very vicious ways. This makes for very graphic, unpleasant, stomach turning viewing.

When Yusuf refuses to break, his Muslim wife and small children are detained and brought into the torture chamber by the government, where he is forced to watch as his spouse's neck is spontaneously, mercilessly and viciously slashed by the CIA operative, leaving her to loudly gasp for air and bleed to death, right before his eyes.

Why Hollywood thought it appropriate to bring such a disgusting thing to the screen, testifies to their imprudence, insanity and lack of basic commonsense. How could such a sick film possibly help the U.S. government and America by default. It will only serve to provoke Muslims to rage. The Celluloid Film Review does not recommend this terrible, depraved film. Once again, Hollywood never knows when to quit.

Christians Need To Create Entertainment And Press Outlets

There are many wealthy Christians in the world, who need to do more, by putting their money to good use in charitable deeds and also things that will benefit others worldwide, such as positive entertainment and websites.

There is way too much negativity out there being fueled by Hollywood and spoon fed to your children. If they watch and follow these negative examples, it shall endanger their souls and spirituality. Christians must counter these negative messages with positive ones, by creating our own venues and outlets.

Casey Affleck Sued Again For Sexual Harassment

Another movie industry woman, has sued married actor, Casey Affleck, for sexual harassment, on the set of the film, "I'm Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix." Last week, the film's director, Amanda White, sued Affleck over a laundry list of terrible sexual harassment and non-payment for directorial work.

This week, the film's female cinematographer, Magdalena Gorka, has sued him as well, for his debauched acts of sexual harassment and non-payment of film work. Gorka contends, Affleck crawled into her bed drunk one night, while she was asleep. She states in her lawsuit, Affleck was only wearing a t-shirt and underwear and began groping her.

Imagine going to bed alone, then rolling over in bed, only to find this dude staring at you like that (she should have kicked him out of bed and shoved her camera stand right up his...)

White's suit also referred to the sexual harassment Gorka was subjected to on the set of the film. Gorka's lawyer stated, she has been in the entertainment industry for 16-years and had not file a sexual harassment claim against anyone until Affleck. He does sound pretty insufferable.

Side Bar: One day, Affleck is going to harass the wrong chick and she is going to kick him in his crown jewels and make him speak like the Aflac duck.

Author JK Rowling has been sued again for copyright infringement, regarding the Harry Potter book series. Rowling and publisher Scholastic Inc, are accused of stealing from the preexisting, 1980's children's' books of deceased author Adrian Jacobs.

Both JK Rowling and Adrian Jacobs shared a book publishing agent, Christopher Little, who is thought to be the source that passed on the preexisting copyrights to Rowling to plagiarize, netting them both a fortune.

THE SIMILARITIES INCLUDE:

"The premise of both (books) involve a year-long wizard contest — which both protagonists win."

"Both Willy and Harry, the featured wizards in the respective works, are required to deduce the exact nature of the central task in the competition," the complaint reads. "Both Willy and Harry uncover the nature of this central task covertly in a bathroom."

"Both tasks at the center of the wizard competition involve 'rescuing hostages imprisoned by a community of half-human, half-animal creatures.'"

Jacobs' estate has credibly sued her in three legal actions over ongoing infringements of preexisting copyrights. The cases are now pending. Here's hoping Warner Bros, the maker of the Harry Potter films, doesn't corrupt the court cases, as they have been known to do.

A Miami lawyer for a massive firm on Brickell Avenue once ominously told me that Warner Bros. wins legal cases, "Because they have connections." That was legal speak for corruption.
